Promotional Competitions in terms of the
Consumer Protection Act and the Protection of Personal Information Act

  1. The Competition
    1. Share and post a photo with you and your friends having a good time with any beverage ON YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA PROFILE, tag our @Rooikat Wholesale Liquor profile and include the hashtag #rooikat_goodtimes to stand a chance to win R2000 in cash from Rooikat Wholesale Liquors if your picture is chosen as the “picture of the month” winner.
  1. Entering the Competition
    1. The competition will begin on 16 March 2022. (And thereafter every following Month while competition in in play)
    2. The enter the competition you must take a selfie/photo of themselves and/or with friend/family having a good time with a beverage in their hands.
    3. The photo must then be uploaded onto your profile and tag the  Rooikat’s Instagram profile or Facebook page profile with the hashtag: #Rooikat_goodtimes
    4. At end of each month a winner will be drawn from a hat containing all the names of the people that entered the competition in the required manner and who qualify in terms of the participation requirements, where after one name will be drawn by a local celebrity.
    5. The drawing of the winner will be filmed and placed on Rooikat’s social media platforms (Instagram and Facebook).
    6. The final draw will take place just after the last day of every month, where after the competition with renew and begin again for the next month following.
  1. Receiving the Prize
    1. The winner must receive the prize in person at Rooikat Warehouse, 1 Stinkhout Cres Mbobmela. within 2 calendar days of the prize being announces before close of business at 16h00.
    2. The occasion will be photographed and placed on Rooikat’s social media platforms, with the consent of the winner.
  1. Participation Requirements
    1. To qualify to participate in the competition to stand a chance to win the prize, you must be residing or working in the following geographical areas/regions: Mbombela, White River, Hazyview and surrounds, approximation 70km surrounding main centre Mbombela.
    2. Anyone can post a photo with the hashtag to join in the fun, unfortunately, only the individuals working or residing in the requires areas are eligible to enter the competition to stand a chance to win the prize.
    3. You cannot enter the competition if you are: a person who is a director, member, partner, employee or agent of, or consultant to, the promoter or a supplier of goods or services in connection with Rooikat or any other person who directly or indirectly controls or is controlled by the promoter.
    4. Each month you must enter the competition between the following dates in the applicable month – 1st day to last day of the month.
    5. No under 18 year olds are allowed to enter the competition.
    6. No vulgar or explicit photos will be tolerated and if the photos posted are of the aforementioned nature, Rooikat will immediately remove the photos and you will no longer be eligible to qualify to participate in the competition. Vulgar and explicit photos include but are not limited to the following: swear words appearing on the photos, rude gestures such as middle fingers, clothing displaying swearwords or rude gestures, nudity, sexual innuendos or gestures and minors appearing in photos.
  1. Protection of Personal Information
    1. Rooikat is processing the information provided with regards to the promotional competition to determine a winner and for purposes of social media marketing. Your information will be used for this purpose only and will be disposed of if you do not wish to be contacted with regards to any further marketing or promotional content regarding our goods and services.
    2. You consent to the processing of your information for the above mentioned purpose.
    3. You agree that the information supplied is true and correct.
    4. The business respects your privacy and your personal information, thus, we take all reasonable measures to protect your personal information and to keep it confidential and consent to same being shared for purposes of announcing the winner related to the promotion of the event.
    5. If you do not wish to provide us with the requested information, are unable to do so, or object to it being used, it may result in us not being able to process your information sufficiently for you to participate in the competition or to stand a chance to be announced as the winning participant.
    6. You have the right to access this information while in our possession and make amendments/deletions or request that we no longer process the information.
    7. You also have the right to contact us to lodge a complaint or via email with the office of the Information Regulator, at complaints.IR@justice.gov.za, if you are unhappy with the manner in which we process.
    8. You can add, amend or delete the personal information provided at any stage.
    9. You consent that we can use the photo which you upload with the hashtag #Rooikat_goodtimes for our social media content and platforms.
    10. You undertake that you have obtained permission to post the photo on social media, from any person appearing in the photo other than yourself.
    11. The purpose of collecting the personal information is stated in this document on which the information is regarding the competition is supplied.

  1. You agree that you understand and will abide by all the terms and conditions of the event that you enter. You agree that you understand that should the terms and conditions be breached in any manner, you will no longer be eligible to enter or participate in the competition.
